Vol.74 A Finnish piggy bank that can be used for both saving and displaying @note

Updated: Sep 27

The cute, round shape and cute eyes of the polar bear and seal piggy bank give off a retro vibe.

They come from Finland, a part of Northern Europe.

They were originally given to children as a novelty gift by the Nordea bank in Finland around 1970. At the time, the bank kept the key, and children would save money and bring the piggy bank full to the bank, which would open the lock for them. This piggy bank with such an exciting story has been reproduced and reprinted in the same factory as it was made back then!

At first glance, the piggy bank looks like pottery, but contrary to its appearance, it is actually made of recycled plastic.

Therefore, it is very light and will not break even if children handle it roughly or drop it.

The plump, round shape and the silly expressions that make you chuckle when you look at them always warming your heart.

You can use it as a piggy bank, or just display it as a simple Nordic interior decoration.
